Leisure agriculture and educational travel are not new concepts and can contribute to the sustainable development of leisure agriculture through their incorporation. The goal of this paper is therefore to explore the nature of research tourism, including the value and role of educational travel, and to explore the feasibility of consolidating and analysing literature to develop a model of leisure agriculture research tourism. It is found that resource viability, management, economic and social aspects and the integration of the two are conducive to the sustainable development of leisure agriculture in the development of leisure farming and the educational trip model.
