Proximate Analysis and Evolution of Energy Value from Leaves and Stem of Sword Fern: Nephrolepis exa

The goal of the present study was to predict the amount of each nutrient in the sword fern "Nephrolepis exaltata" Arial sections. The analysis was carried out between December-2019 and March-2020 at Sarva Vidhyalaya Campus, Kadi, Gujarat (India). The prediction of nutritional components including ash percent, moisture percent, crude protein percent, crude fat percent, crude fibre percent, and carbohydrate was taken from the protein estimation process of AOAC and Standard Lowry. The next study reveals that crude protein and carbohydrates are monumentally present, that crude lipid and fibres are moderately present. The ash content in the leaves and stem was 8.65 percent and 12.42 percent respectively, which indicates the presence of inorganic minerals. In leaves and stems, the crude protein was reported as 21.25 percent and 30.0 percent respectively, while the crude lipid was 8.41 percent and 1.47 percent respectively. With 359,766 Kcal/100 gm and 313,266 Kcal/100 gm respectively, the leaves and stems were defined as a good source of energy value.
