In recent years, the COVID-19 pandemic has afflicted Nigeria and many other countries around the world. Many countries have seen some degree of new ideas and social phenomena as a result of it. The role of myths and misconceptions in the prevention of epidemics in Nigeria requires special attention. Many Nigerians have some doubts or myths about COVID-19. The public opinion is that there is a lack of trust in the government, security agents, and health officers, among other things. Many Nigerians are misinformed about the COVID-19 pandemic as a result of this. The mass media informs and educates society through services, events, campaigns, and information sharing, among other things. For the masses to obtain the proper education that will refute the dangerous myths and misconceptions among many Nigerians, there must be synergy between private, public, local, and international organisations.
