A 9-question self-administered questionnaire was distributed, and the results were analysed. The current study found that the majority of people were aware of the importance of good oral hygiene, but that there were a lack of established dental clinics in urban areas. There was also a need to emphasise the importance of regular dental check-ups and raise awareness about the negative consequences of poor oral hygiene. The study found that the general public's understanding of the importance of good oral hygiene and dental check-ups needed to be improved. The results were interpreted after a self-administered questionnaire with nine questions was distributed. The current study found that the majority of people were aware of the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene, but that there were few established dental clinics in urban areas. There was also a need to emphasise the importance of regular dental examinations and raise awareness about the negative consequences of poor oral hygiene. According to the findings, the general public's understanding of the importance of good oral hygiene and dental check-ups needs to be improved.
