Age Pattern Related Moribity and Mortality among COVID-19 Patients: Indian Chapter | International J

COVID-19 has claimed the lives of over a million people around the world, including children and the elderly. Throughout the pandemic, there has been discussion of the disease's age-related vulnerability, as well as the preventive measures and policies adopted by various countries around the world. COVID-19 has had a disproportionate effect on the elderly. When opposed to the general population, patients with co-morbidities face a greater threat. The epidemiological data and Case Fatality Ratio (CFR) collected from countries differ greatly, but they paint a vivid image of the pandemic situation in each country. As a result, the author looked at published data from a variety of countries to see if there was a connection between age and COVID-19 mortality and morbidity. The author also looked into the role of angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) as a receptor in the fight against the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. The author also looked through the literature for studies that explained how age affects the physiological inflammatory response to SARS-CoV-2 infection.

As a result, the knowledge gleaned from these details would be useful in assessing COVID-19 unreasonable care precautionary and preventive policies.
