Challenges and Prospects of Entrepreneurship in Bhutan from the Lens of Business Educators |...

Entrepreneurship is critical for creating jobs, increasing government revenue, and fostering societal change, particularly in a developing economy like Bhutan. Given the country's significance, this paper looks into the obstacles that aspiring entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial projects face, as well as their potential prospects in Bhutan.Via asemi structured interview with fifteen participants from Gedu College of Business Studies in Gedu, Bhutan, the paper uses qualitative research methods to investigate the perspectives of business educators. According to the findings of the study, Bhutanese entrepreneurs have a long way to go before they can successfully push economic change, due to a variety of obstacles that aspiring entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial projects face today. However, the findings indicate that there is a bright future for entrepreneurial projects in the region, and that ventures that can exploit technological support from other countries would have an unfair advantage. To make it easier for entrepreneurs in the country, the study recommends encouraging the consumption of indigenous products by discouraging the import of goods and services that can be produced locally, regulating the price of homemade products, exploring market and marketing facilities outside the country to encourage largescale production, and starting a conversation about entrepreneurship.
