Comparative Physicochemical Evaluation of Selective Brands of Diclofenac Potassium Tablets Available

The objective of the present effort was to carry out a physiochemical assessment of the various commercially available 75 mg diclofenac potassium tablets in the local market of Sindh, Pakistan. There was a further distinction between their distinct parameters. For diameter, thickness, disintegration time, and assay content and dissolution profile, seven brands tagged as RB1 to RB7 were assessed in the report. Results obtained from all brands complied with the official disintegration test level specification, Assay Material. During dissolution testing, the achieved release rate profile revealed that in sixty minutes, all brands achieved more than 80 percent. The spectrophotometric analysis was within 90 percent -110 percent of the assay content of all brands, which was in good agreement with Pharmacopoeia listed in the United States. All measured goods may be considered chemically identical in the current analysis, while no product is found as a false product, all brands can be used instead. The spectrophotometric assessment used is very basic, rational, and easy to analyse and could be used in routine analysis of diclofenac potassium tablets, particularly in the unavailability of advanced equipment such as HPLC, LCMS & GC, etc., which in many institutions is not readily accessible and accusable.
