Effect of Deficit Irrigation under Different Crop on Crop Productivity and Water Use Efficiency- A R

Objectives: To evaluate the diversity of the species of trees in parks and gardens in the metropolitan region of Ibadan.

Study Design: For data collection, complete enumeration was carried out; all the trees in the urban parks and gardens were listed. It measured the similarity of species and the diversity of trees.

Location and length of the study: Ibadan City urban parks and gardens, Nigeria, Department of Forestry Technology, Federal Forestry College, Ibadan, Nigeria, Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management, Abeokuta, Nigeria, Federal University of Agriculture, between April 2019 and March 2020.

Methodology: On Google Earth Image, the parks and gardens were listed. It described the species and families of all the trees within the parks and gardens. It also estimated the density, richness of species, relative abundance, similarity, diversity and evenness. In estimating the species diversity, the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, Simpson's diversity index, and Pielou's species evenness index were used.

Results: The results show a substantial composition of 82 species spread across 34 families, with the most abundant species and families being Senna sesame and Fabaceae. The trees are mainly populated by native and evergreen plants, with a population of 2,471 trees. The richness, similarity, and diversity of species is comparatively high.

Conclusion: The research offers an opportunity to assess the contribution of urban parks and gardens to a city's ecological integrity and wellbeing, thereby serving as important knowledge for the preparation of strategies for workable conservation.

Deficit irrigation is a technique that could be introduced to allow better use of water. The purpose of the paper was to review and analyse various irrigation deficits in order to compare the morphological characteristics of their crops, yield, water productivity and efficiency of water use under different crop types. In the semi-arid and arid region between water management and better economic return per applied water, the overall concept and results are very real and useful worldwide. The maximum production in dryland tomatoes should be irrigated using a drip irrigation system with a 100 percent ETc watering quantity[17].
