Effect of Social Training Skill on Bullying Tendency among Secondary School Students in Nnewi North
Aims: This directed on the effect of social preparation skill on bullying shift among high school students in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra state, Nigeria.Study Design: The study employed the almost-experimental research design (pre-test, post-test, non-randomized control group)Place and Duration of Study: Secondary school pupils in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria, between June 2021 and January 2022.Methodology: The population exists of 329 students in JS2 and SS2 as a whole the secondary schools from all the co-instructional schools in Nnewi-North LGA having high level of domineering tendency. The sample for this study held 108 secondary school students that were felt for high domineering tendency. This was tense from JS2 and SS2 students from the two coeducational schools picked for the study. The instrument for dossier collection was an already settled Students Bullying Tendency Questionnaire developed. The pupils’ tendency to bullying inquiry (STBQ) which was selected for this study was structured to verify the students’ tendency to domineering. The SBTQ total score range from 20-80 with bigger level of bullying tendency. Bullying scale reads; powerfully agree =(SA) 4points, concur (A)=3 points, disagree(D)= 2 points and powerfully disagree (SD)=1. The instrument secondhand the Pearson product importance statistical technique to acquire a co-efficient of dependability of 0.89. The researcher administered copies of the domineering tendency inquiry through direct delivery means to all JS2 and SS2 students to complete. The administered implement after accumulation will be scored in line with the implement scoring guide and resolve using Analysis of Co-difference (ANCOVA), The data which has connection with the research questions was analyzed utilizing mean, while data relating to the valueless hypothesis was resolve using ANCOVA. Scores that are above the norm 47.77 for men and 47.77 for female while those scores below show no domineering tendency behaviour.Results: The results of the study told that, social skills preparation technique is persuasive in reducing bullying bias among senior high school students. More so, friendly skills training method is more effective in lowering male secondary school students’ domineering tendency. The effect of public skills training method on the bullying leaning of secondary school undergraduates is significant. The study further revealed that the influence of social abilities training technique on the domineering tendency of male and female prep school students do not differ considerably.Conclusion: Based on the analysis, it was decided that social abilities training technique is active in reducing domineering tendency among high school students, public skills preparation technique is more effective in lowering male secondary school undergraduates’ bullying tendency. The effect of friendly skills preparation technique on the bullying leaning of secondary school scholars is significant. The influence of social skills preparation technique on the domineering tendency of male and female secondary school juniors do not differ considerably.
