Effect of Weed Management Practices on Weed Growth and Yield of Greengram (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilcze
During 2016-17, a field experiment was conducted at the Agronomy instructional Farm, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, MPUAT, Udaipur (Rajasthan) to see how new generation herbicides affected green gramme. The findings showed that various weed control methods had a major effect on both growth and yield characteristics of blackgram. Weed parameters also showed a similar pattern. Higher seed yield (13.8 qha-1) and weed control efficiency (88.97%) were observed when acifluorfen sodium + clodinafop propargyl (370 g a.i. ha-1) was applied at the 3-4 leaf level, which was comparable to pre-emergence application of pyroxasulfone + pendimethalin (TM) 127.5+1000 g a.i/ha, imazethapyr+ quizalof weedy search and two hand weeding twice at 20 and 40 DAS, imazethapyr + pendimethalin (RM) 1000 g a.i/ha as pre-emergence, propaquizfop 75 g a.i/ha at 3-4 leaf level, imazethapyr + pendimethalin (RM) 1000 g a.i/ha as pre-emergence, propaquizfop 75 g a.i/ They also saw a 65.22 percent rise in yields and net returns over weedy search. For the green gramme grown in Southern Rajasthan, these herbicide ready-mixes may be a promising weed control strategy.
