Efficacy of Herbicides on Nutrient Uptake of Crop, Weed and Its Impact on Soil Microflora
Aim: Field experiment was transported to study the suitable grass management systems to check the nutrient exhaustion by weeds, check the dynamics of microbial people and in relation to develop the biomass stover yield of maize (Zea mays L.).Study Design: This experiment laid out in a randomized block design and 8 various weed administration treatments accompanying three replications.Place and Duration of Study: Field experiment was conducted at Agricultural College and Research Institute, Madurai, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Tamil Nadu in kharif 2019.Methodology: TNAU maize composite CO-6 was used for this experiment. Treatments were request of pre-emergence weedkiller atrazine at 0.25 kg/ha or pendimethalin 1 kg/ha applied individually on 3 days after sowing and together with post-rise herbicide tembotrione 120 g/ha or halosulfuron methyl 90 g/ha on 25 DAS, grass free check, unweeded check in maize crop. Weed vitamin depletion and microbial public was analysed in laboratory. Results: The use of pre-emergence atrazine 0.25 kg/ha trailed by post-emergence tembotrione 120 g/ha persuasive in controlling of grasses and BLW and reinforce the nutrient rude answer of maize. The stover maize yield increased accompanying application of herbicides and subsequent application of herbicides worked out 88% improved stover yield over unweeded check. Sequential use of herbicides initially defeat the population of soil microflora but the community gradually amplify in all the weedkiller applied plots at 60 days afterwards application. Conclusion: Based on the results of the experiment, it was decided that pre-rise atrazine 0.25 kg/ha followed by post rise tembotrione 120 g/ha effective in ruling of weeds and enhance the vitamin uptake and stover yield of maize outside much adverse affect soil microbial population.
