Food Safety and Hygiene Practices in Medium Size Hotel in Ondo State, Nigeria
The growing rate of diseases joined to food has called for weighty attention. This declaration forms the basis for ventured this study that hinged on guaranteeing food safety and clean practices in medium size inns in Ondo State, Nigeria. The study State was divided into three clusters and two lodgings were randomly selected in each of the cluster. A field scrutiny was undertaken to evaluate the level of compliance accompanying standard guidelines on hygiene and security measures, examining the supplies used in snack preparations and security measures. The food handlers in the selected inns were randomly picked while visitors were intentionally selected based on their enthusiasm to participate in the study. A well-planned questionnaire was promoted to gather information from two together tourists and meal handlers. Microbial laboratory reasoning was carried out on the composed food samples. The perceptions of the clients on the cleanliness and cleanliness examined utilizing a set of ten indicators revealed that consumers had positive and good understanding of the hotels’ surroundings (weighted mean =4.51 to 4.92). Though, the picked hotels hewed to food security and hygiene practices, there is need to assert and sustain this extreme level of performance apiece relevant stakeholders.
