Fusion of the Sixth and Seventh Cervical Vertebra: A Case Report
Aim: To report a precious fusion of the 6th and 7th cervical vertebra in a corpse specimen.Presentation of Case: A fused C6-C7 vertebra was found during process to make softer in the Anatomy laboratory in a South-Eastern Nigerian University. The laminas were entirely fused while their physique, transverse processes and spinous processes were fused incompletely.Discussion: Block vertebra is the fusion of individual or more adjoining vertebral column in which they act as individual, both structurally and functionally. These fusions, even though present in other domains, is more common in the cervical region. Among the stated cases, there is a bigger incidence of melding between C2-C3 accompanying only few reported cases of fusion 'tween C6-C7. Fused cervical vertebra impact biochemical and mechanical stress on the adjacent vertebra which results in miscellaneous neurological and physical questions, hence the report keep create an intuitiveness that could aid researchers and healing diagnoses. Conclusion: This unusual mixture of C6-C7 vertebra reported specifies basis of physical variations in which correct documentation of occurrence and knowledge will be in consideration of anatomists, orthopaedic surgeons, radiologists and other medical organization.
