The study's aim was to find out how knowledgeable potential healthcare professionals were about the Ebola virus disease (EVD) at a private university.
A convenience sampling method was used to perform a cross-sectional sample. Data was collected from students studying in three health care faculties at a Malaysian university using a self-developed and pre-validated method. The data was analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) Version 24.0.
Out of a total of 273 students enrolled, 170 (62.3%) of female students participated in the current study, compared to 103 (37.7%) of male students. In comparison to pre-final year students, the majority of final year students had sufficient knowledge of EVD.
Conclusion: The prospective healthcare professionals surveyed possessed an overall acceptable and good level of expertise. According to the results, pharmacy students had a greater understanding of EVD than the other students surveyed.
