Genotypic and Phenotypic Variability and Correlation Studies in Ridge Gourd (Luffa acutangula L. Rux
The research was attended AICRP on Vegetable crops, Department of Horticulture, MPKV, Rahuri, Dist. Ahmednagar (M.S.) in RBD along with two replications judged that summer-2022. In F3 progenies in Cross-III P6 x P8 (Saloni-5 x NRG-9) accompanying two parents rim gourd. In eighteen characters intentional that variability and broad sense heritability (bs) accompanying genetic advance over mean and equivalence studied that, the extreme GCV and high PCV noticed for the number of branches/climbing plant, fruit yield/vine, crop yield/plot and fruit yield/ha stated that highest instability indicated personalities for further improvement and the maximal broad sense heritability (bs) along with the best genetic advance over mean were observed in number of arms/vine, number of growth which first male flower came into view, number of picking, weight of product, number of fruits/climbing plant, fruit yield/climbing plant, fruit yield/plot and crop yield/ha. The fruit yield (q/ha) in F3 generation at genotypical and phenotypical of product yield indicated that well significant absolutely correlated accompanying number of branches/climbing plant, length of creeper, number of pickings, days to last pickings, width of fruit except genotypic level, pressure of fruits and number of products/vine, in these types was governed by additively deoxyribonucleic acid action, the smallest influences by the environment belongings indicating that better chance for the advance through the selections.
