Influence of Nitrogen and Zinc on Growth, Yield and Economics of Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.)

A field experiment was administered during kharif 2022 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P) to study the “Influence of Nitrogen and Zinc on Growth, Yield and Economics of Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.)”. To Study situation comprising three levels of Nitrogen viz. 60, 80 and 100 kg/ha and three levels of Zinc namely. 15, 20 and 25 kg/ha. There were 10 situations, each of which was copied three periods and laid out in randomized block design. The results granted that situation 9 [Nitrogen 100 kg/ha + Zinc 25 kg/ha] recorded meaningful higher plant climax (238.83 cm), greater dry weight (122.37 g), bigger time of ear head (27.51 cm), taller children yield (4430.43 kg/ha), higher stover yield (7246.58 kg/ha), taller number of grains/head (981.34) and greater harvest index (38.75 %) was recorded in situation 9 [Nitrogen 100 kg/ha + Zinc 25 kg/ha]. Similarly, maximum gross return (1,46,993.65 INR/ha), maximum net return (99,186.03 INR/ha) and highest benefit cost percentage (2.08) was still recorded in situation 9 [Nitrogen 100 kg/ha + Zinc 25 kg/ha] as distinguished to other situations.
