Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) and Transparency in Government Payroll..

The impact of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) on government payroll administration accountability in the Nigerian civil service is investigated in this paper. A descriptive crosssectional survey study design was used in the form of a questionnaire administered to the respondents to elicit information, which offers generalised opinions/statistics from a large number of individual cases. The study's participants are 100 Treasury employees from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federationwho work at the Federal Pay Offices in Sokoto and Birnin Kebbi. The census was implemented. As a result, sampling is representative of the population. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 21 was used to collect and interpret data using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of this paper's test of hypothesis showed a moderately positive relationship between IPPIS, Transparency, and Accountability.As a result, the null hypothesis, that there is no substantial relationship between IPPIS and government payroll administration accountability in Nigeria's Federal Civil Service, is dismissed, and the alternative hypothesis is adopted.The paper recommends that the government strengthen IPPIS' internal control mechanism in order to continuously detect and close any loopholes that could lead to fraud, as well as conducting routine audits and inspections of the programme to ensure strict adherence to the program's rules and regulations, as well as compliance with the provisions of.
