Minimum Performance Standards of Tillage Implements | Current Journal of Applied Science ...........

The focus of this article is on the development of minimum performance standards (MPS) for tillage machines like rotavators, disc harrows, and cultivators. This study goes over the needed minimum performance standards for various tillage machines under sandy loam soil conditions and makes recommendations to guarantee that farmers have access to high-quality tillage machinery. 6.50 cm, 14 cm, 0.23 ha h-1, 76 percent, 3.0 l h-1, 77 percent, and 11 kW are the minimum performance standards for minimum depth of cut, minimum depth of puddle, minimum area covered per metre working width, minimum field efficiency, maximum fuel consumption per metre working width, minimum puddling index, and maximum PTO power requirement per metre working width, respectively. The minimum performance standards for disc harrows are 8 cm, 0.43 ha h-1, 70%, 3.0 l h-1, 213 kg-f, and 4.0 kW, respectively, for minimum depth of cut, minimum area covered per metre of working width, minimum field efficiency, maximum fuel consumption per metre of working width, maximum draught per metre of working width, and maximum drawbar power per metre of working width. Similarly, minimum cultivator performance was recommended based on the results of various parameters such as minimum depth of cut, minimum area covered per metre of working width, minimum field efficiency, maximum fuel consumption per metre of working width, maximum draught per metre of working width, and maximum drawbar power per metre of working width. Other requirements like as safety, size, labelling, building materials, and breakdowns are examined and recommended in addition to the performance parameters
