Neo-Liberal Workplace and Labour Process Analysis: Resilience of Dialectics in Understanding Consent
This paper provides to understanding the debates on labour process analysis that continue to underpin abstract framework for describing the dynamics of neo-liberal institution. The generic figure of capitalist mode of result has distinct physiognomy that have been elaborated on, in labour process reasoning. In the context of “organized relations” between capital and labour, labour process belief provides the basic theoretical framework for checking and understanding the social connections of production within the institution. However, while the debates over labour process continue to indicate a “broad church” of perspectives amounting to “eclectic orientations” of various strands, dialectical reasoning remains flexible in providing critical understanding to consent and resistance in existing workplace. The different contributions to the debates on labour process provide the detracting perspectives to arising dynamics of world of work, and native dimensions of control necessity of management. The conceptual lineages of labour process debates; two together of the earlier Marxist subscribers and that of “second wave” analysts, remain powerful and “elastic” in providing understanding of existing neo-liberal workplace.
