Nipping - A Simple Strategy to Boost The Yield – Review | Annual Research & Review in Biology
Nipping is an effective technique for removing apical dominance and promoting lateral branches, which increases crop yield. It is important for the proper management of the source-sink relationship as well as the enhancement of productivity. Nipping can be accomplished in one of two ways: manually clipping or spraying growth inhibitors like mepiquat chloride, chlormequat chloride, and maleic hydrazide. The effect of nipping on the growth and yield of various crops is addressed in this study.
