Paediatric Ectopic Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma: A Unique Case | Asian Journal of Case Reports in Sur
Ectopic thyroid cancer is exceedingly uncommon, with papillary thyroid carcinoma being the most prevalent kind. We discuss the case of a 17-year-old girl who had right neck swelling as well as right supraclavicular swelling. Her preoperative ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration results revealed a benign right multinodular goitre and right supraclavicular ectopic thyroid, but her postoperative histology revealed primary papillary thyroid cancer. Although the majority of paediatric neck swelling is benign, a probable diagnosis of malignancy should not be overlooked.
