Performance of Salicylic Acid and Hydrogel on Water Use Efficiency and Productivity of Indian Mustar

Aims: To study the effect of salicylic acid and hydrogel on water use effectiveness and productivity of Indian flavoring in Jammu.Study Design: Randomized Block Design (RBD).Place and Duration of Study: Oilseed Experimental Area, Research Farm, SKUAST-Jammu, Chatha, Jammu & Kashmir (UT).Methodology: The field experiment was attended during the rabi season of 2014-15 and 2015-16 at the Research Farm, Chatha of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu that is in the direction of 320 40’ N latitude and 740 58’ E distance accompanying an altitude of 332 m above ocean's surface. The experiment comprised of nine situations accompanying 3 replications. Results: The application of Salicylic acid @ 200 ppm at blooming and siliquae establishment stage in combination accompanying use of hydrogel @ 2.5 kg/ha happened in increase in the yield attributes, and seed yield of Indian flavoring besides concomitant increase in the precipitation water use effectiveness and cumulative water use of Indian flavoring and was erect to be ultimate inexpensive treatment than additional treatments distinguished. Conclusion: Based on average of two age of experimentation, use of Hydrogel @ 2.5 kg/ha + Salicylic acid 200 ppm at blooming stage & siliquae stage with maximum average benefit: cost percentage may be urged for alleviation of moisture stress in Jammu domain for gettv higher crop yield, better precipitation water use effectiveness, cumulative water use and appropriateness due to better average financial returns (2.50) in rainfed extents of Jammu region.
