Productivity and Fruit Quality Influenced by Bioestimulant in Olive under Hot and Arid Environment..
In reality, modern fruit tree physiology is based on using bioestimulants to stimulate plant cell growth and fruit production. The effect of the biostimulant ‘Engordone' was studied in the olive tree cv Manzanillaunder two doses (0.5 and 1.0 L ha-1) and two times (pea size fruit and 28 days later) in a hot and arid climate of Mexico. During 2018 and 2019, the experiment was conducted at the Experimental Station Coast of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, by the National ResearchInstitute for Forestry, Agriculture, and Livestock (INIFAP). The experiment was conducted on an eight-yearold olive tree that was planted at a distance of 10 x 5 m (200 trees ha1) and was watered using a drip irrigation method.A randomised full block template with four replications was used to evaluate the experiment. Olive production, size classification, and fruit characteristics were among the variables studie (fruit weight and pulp-pit ratio).
Bioestimulant application had no impact on olive production, which increased by 14.1 and 6.5 percent in2018 and 2019, respectively, as compared to untreated trees, although there was no statistical difference. Treatments had no impact on fruit characteristics. In the first year, only the proportion of nonmarketable fruit was statistically (P0.05) decreased. Finally, new biostimulants and application times must be tested in order to increase the size of the organism olives for the table.
