Re-establishing New Normality as We Return to Orthodontic Office| Asian Journal of Dental Sciences
The SARS-Cov2 virus causes Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), a contagious disease. Early in 2020, it became a global pandemic, affecting more than 200 countries and territories. The virus is very contagious and spreads via aerosol and droplets as well as person-to-person contact. The practise of social distancing, which involves keeping a space between people of 1 to 2 metres (6 feet), has been extensively advocated as a way to reduce or stop the spread. Dentists are at a high risk of contracting and spreading the virus as a result of this. The goal of this article is to reinforce infection control and prevent cross-transmission among orthodontic clinics, as well as precautions to be taken for the treatment of orthodontic patients in a post-lockdown era, until at-home or in-office testing, vaccines, or successful COVID-19 treatments become available.
