Relationship between Social Cognition, Social Adjustment and Pro-Social Behaviour among Undergraduat

Aims: The thrust concerning this study was to determine the connection between public cognition, social adaptation and prosocial behaviour among undergraduates in allied universities in South-east. Nigeria.Study Design: The study selected the correlational survey design.Place and Duration of Study: Undergraduates in federal academies in South-east, Nigeria (Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Federal University of Technology, Owerri FUTO, Federal University Ndifu-Alike, Ebonyi State and Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike), between January 2023 and April 2023.Methodology: The sample for the study encompassed of 1500 undergraduates drawn from two federal academies (University of Nigeria = 780, Nnamdi Azikiwe university = 720). The tools for data collection were the public cognition inquiry, social adjustment scale and supporting-social behaviour scale. The tools were validated and its dependability determined using Cronbach beginning reliability enumerations (r = 0.786, r = 0.748 & r = 0.631). Data collected was analysed using Pearson amount moment equivalence coefficient and t-test for correlation study. The research questions were answered utilizing Pearson product moment equating coefficient, while theories were tested using the t-test for equivalence analysis.Results: The findings of the study disclosed a high beneficial relationship between friendly cognition and prosocial behaviour with undergraduates in federal universities in South-oriental, and a very high beneficial relationship between friendly adjustment and prosocial behaviour among undergraduates in combined universities in South-oriental. The findings revealed a statistically meaningful relationship middle from two points social cognition and prosocial behaviour between undergraduates in federal academies in South-east. Also the findings disclosed a statistically significant relationship 'tween social adaptation and prosocial behaviour among undergraduates in federal academies in South-east, Nigeria.Conclusion: Professional psychoanalyst in collaboration with academies should cultivate psychological programmes tailored towards behaviours and undergraduates charming in them.
