Screening of Cluster Bean Genotypes/ Varieties for Resistance to Xanthomonas axonopodis
Clusterbean [Cyamopsis tetragonaloba (L.) Taub is an dry and semi-dry legume crop belonging to the classification leguminaceae. It is a drought lasting leguminous crop because of allure profound tap rooting whole and has high efficiency to get well from water stress. Total having 50 of something-nine varieties/genotypes of clusterbean were screened under pretended Inoculation field conditions at College Research Farm, College of Agriculture, Bikaner against bacterial blight affliction during the Kharif season of 2018 and 2019. Two alternative inoculation methods-seed immunization and foliar sprays of bacterial suspension were working to test for resistance to Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. cyamopsidis bacterial blight infection. (2.5x108cfu/ml). Out of 59 types, only one assortment RGC-1066 found opposing against bacterial blight disease, 17 were found rather resistant, 17 were slightly susceptible and 24 sorts were found susceptible. No one type found well susceptible against bacterial blight.
