Studies on Physiological Effects and Plasmid Stability of JM109 Host System | Journal of .......
The aim of this analysis is to determine the growth and plasmid stability of the E. coli JM109 host system.
Methods: The host system was exposed to varying concentrations of medications, chemicals, and different frequencies of radiation to check colony forming units as well as plasmid concentration and stability.
Results: The chemical acridine orange had the greatest effect on DH5a development, while the drug dantron had the greatest effect on the organism's growth. The highest inhibitory effects were reported at a radio frequency of 2GHz and low intensity microwave radiation. Exposure to UV rays, on the other hand, had no discernible effect on growth.
Conclusion: The current study found that medications, chemicals, radio frequency, and microwave radiation have a significant impact not only on organism growth but also on plasmid concentration and stability.
