Study of Different Factors Associated with Completion of Continuum of Care for Maternal Health Servi
Background: The term "continuum of care" for maternal, newborn, and child health usually refers to the care provided during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. It is a critical method for reducing maternal and newborn mortality. The goal of this study was to determine the state of maternal health care and the factors that influence completion of the continuum of care.
Materials and Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study of 372 women who had a child during the previous year was done. The information was gathered via a face-to-face interview with a pre-tested and organised Questionnaire. Based on the study's objectives, univariate, bivariate, and multiple logistic analysis were performed.
The study discovered that roughly 75% of women completed the maternal health services continuum of treatment. After adjusting for all variables, women who had four or more antenatal visits (AOR: 18.00, 95 percent CI: 7.38-43.93) and were advised to have a postnatal care checkup (AOR=3.07, 95 percent CI: 1.49-6.32) were found to have a statistically significant relationship with the completion of the continuum of care for maternal health services.
The majority of the participants had completed the continuum of care for maternal health services, according to the findings. Increased antenatal care visits and requesting guidance about postnatal checkups throughout pregnancy have a positive impact on the completion rate of the continuum of care. This has also been thought to be beneficial in meeting the goals of all three components of maternal health services.
