The aim of this study was to examine teachers' ability to recognise students with learning disabilities using qualitative research methods. The research was carried out in the Udawalawa area of Sri Lanka's Ratnapura district, and it provided teachers with a method to help them recognise students with learning disabilities and promote their learning using adaptive guidance tailored to their needs. The research focuses on the problems that students with learning disabilities encounter at the chosen school.The results provide insight into how teachers can recognise students with learning disabilities in the classroom and provide recommendations for teacher ability growth. Two subject teachers and eight class teachers were included in the study's sample. The average age of the students studied was eight years old. For the analysis, the most practical sampling method wasused.Teachers were aware of students with learning disabilities, but not the particular type of learning difficulties they were experiencing, according to the study.Teachers were often unprepared to use adaptive instructions to suit their students' needs. The study concluded that there was a disconnect between teachers and their students, which needed to be investigated further.
