Using Instructional Materials to Overcome Students’ Difficulties in Solving Problems Related .......
This study addresses the difficulty of visual Art 2 students at Komfo Anokye Senior High School in Kumasi to correctly calculate the perpendicular height in a given pyramid and then utilise that information to calculate the pyramid's volume. Before employing the activity technique to teach the real topic—volume of a pyramid—designed instructional materials were utilised to review essential concepts such as Pythagoras theorem.
Apre-test was used to identify particular areas for improvement, and a post-test was used to evaluate the intervention scheme's effectiveness. A group of fifty pupils was chosen from the school's Visual Art 2 class. The study concluded with ideas and recommendations for the effective use of appropriate teaching and learning materials in the teaching of mensuration, particularly pyramids, in order to achieve favourable results.
